Article: [senit] digital video camera

Hi
I also subscribe to becta's dv list and Oscar Stringer replied to this
question on 17th November last year.

I've been running digital video courses for teachers recently around the
UK and several teachers from The Gloustershire area had a Sony camera
that recorded to DVD. A cluster group type purchase.

They are great for taking the disk out of the camera and popping into
your DVD player at home and then watching your footage.

But as soon as you try and edit the footage with Movie Maker or iMovie
it gets very messy and basically doesn't work, the software that also
came with the cameras was very
clumsy and not education friendly. A lot of bother and hassle, I
struggle to see the advantage over tape. Unless of course you just want
to pop the disk into a player after filming, then it's great.
