"To complement the Hands on Support (HOS) programme which provides peer 
to peer support for teachers who require training in the effective use 
of ICT in subject teaching and learning, Becta has now developed a HOS 
matrix.

The HOS matrix has been developed to help schools think about making 
best use of the resources available to them, and help them to identify 
staff who could benefit from HOS or become HOS providers and those who 
could benefit from basic ICT skills training.

By using the HOS matrix teachers will be able to evaluate their approach 
to ICT within learning and teaching and provide them with an individual 
action plan for future development. It will also provide HOS managers 
with a report on all staff to help them make decisions about maximising 
the value they get from the HOS programme."
