one of the interesting ideas that you have posted is taeching needs-based groups/ ability groups eg a group of early switch users, a group of clicker users, a group all ready for video editing. I gather that some ICT teachers select the groups rather than having groups given to them. the number in such groups seems important.I guess the students come from a number of classes to the lessons.I assume support staff bring students to the ICT room. However they may not be able to stay with the student as they may not be 1:1 for the student in their own class. What about support staff for the lesson/session? Where do they come from? are they assigned to the lesson on a regular basis by the timetable person eg Deputy? Then again the difficulty in teaching ICT to classes is that some LSAs do not have enough ICT skills, despite training being available. For the ability groups above for instance the LSAs should be able to use edit mode in clicker, and be able to do simple video editing. So I'm wondering whether the LSAs assigned to these lessons are specially selected on the basis of their better than average ICT skills? (of course you may be in the lucky position of having all LSAs being able to do these things, and of course some teachers can't do them). Any answers to the above points about running ability or needs-based ICT sessions gratefully received , or any more points on this area. david ___________________________________________________________ The all-new Yahoo!
