Article: [senit] touch monitors

We had 42" & 50" SMART Plasma screens installed at The Bridge School's new
primary site. These are SMART touch overlays fitted onto a plasma TV. We put
the smaller screens in the early years classrooms and the bigger ones in the
KS 1 and 2 classrooms. They are on height adjustable wall mounts. We had a
few 'teething' problems (with software rather than hardware) but they are
robust and give a great display. The only criticism I have had is that they
are a little too sensitive for some of the more able children who have ASD
to write on. This does make them really good for anybody who has a very
light touch e.g. a pupil with PMLD doing cause and effect.
