ok, here goes,

kalieidos virtual teaching and learning environment, an rm produced teaching 
platform allowing you to teach, deliver content, set kids tests, hand in 
work, etc, thru a 'program' that the staff & kids log in to.

apparently we are all required to have something similar in place in school 
by 2008ish? but then again, the onscreen tests were supposed to be 
compulsory by 2008, & theyve just disappeared.

stu - sample teaching unit, dfes provided units for each 1/2 term for KS3 
ICT in mainstream schools, the year 7 units were pared down by a working 
party to produce the 'ICT at level 3 & below materials'

....which provides content for year 7 (of varying degrees of suitability, but 
its a great starting point) for PMLD, p4-8 & NC 1-3 ability groups, but not 
for years 8 & 9 which is what i'm embarking on producing at the moment.  I 
have all year 7 content packaged for kaliedos ready to teach, if anyone 
wants it, cos its taken an age.  it may be portable to other platforms, we'd 
have to try it out if anyone using moodle, or other vtle was interested.

hope this provides eileen & any other interested parties with more details, 
i was aware that initial posting was very 'jargony' but wanted to keep it 
short & sweet.  any other queries, please ask, i'm just pleased that someone 
is interested.
