Paresh Ravel, who runs the Accessible Formats Suite at St Andrews Uni
recommends www.studiospares.com sound booth gear. His unit uses the booths
to record audio versions of books for students with disabilities. He said
the kit is much cheaper than other suppliers.

Terry
You posted this question onto the
SENIT a few days ago, and I don't
think that there have been any replies.

There is some information on
commercial sound studios on the web
or retailers music sites (Dawsons
music
(http://www.dawsonsonline.com/) used
to be quite good in education ), or
more general acoustic considerations
(http://www.acheson-glover.com/community/room-acoustic-design.asp)

I'm just guessing but
sound proofing and sound dampening,
a good microphone (fixed microphones
directional and stereo), multimedia
computer, headphones, mixing desk
(to adjust the sound levels), good
speaker systems
might all be important.
