RM Safetynet filters out Youtube and Google Video so any schools using 
the RM filter will be blocked.

I personally think its sad that they block these sites completely, 
however the safety of our students is paramount and perhaps its not as 
easy to selectively block videos - not my area of expertise.

I applaud the moves made by abilitynet and Sean to use youtube but....

Sandwell's ISP uses netsweeper for filtering and the decision has been
made to block youtube and google video and probably others as well.
I know that our ISP has Becta accreditation and whether the blocking 
of
these 'social networking' sites is necessary I don't know.

Each authority handles filtering in different ways, as will schools
within these LAs.
How many list members are in the same position as Sandwell schools and
unable to access youtube etc?

Has anyone been able to successfully allow filtering out of 
undesirable
parts of such sites while allowing the beneficial areas?
