These Mozilla Live CDs are proving extremely popular with visitors and I sadly doubt that there will be any left for me to bring back to UK. To fill in a few details, Charles has created a CD of software that autoruns without any installation on Windows. Installers are provided for Mac and Linux. Apart from making it easy to try this software the CD can be used to access the web via a screen reader on any Windows PC which does not have a screen reader already installed. The spoken start menu allows launching of the following software and also contains tutorials and documentation on Mozilla's Open Source Accessibility and Assistive technology activities. * Firefox - the web browser with many accessibility features including high visibility themes * FireVox - the screen reader add-on to Firefox giving access to both browser and the web. * CLiCk, Speak - the add-on that speaks and highlights the web under user direction * NVDA - the open source windows screen reader. FireVox includes support for the very latest W3C standard that enables screen readers to work more effectively with the proliferating Web 2.0 and Ajax websites (like gmail). A demonstration is included on the CD. We've had at least one visitor delighted that there is no charge for this quality software. NVDA is also proving popular and the author Mick Curran is in much demand. Mick uses it himself so NVDA can claim to be the screen reader used to develop itself.
