As long as you don't mind I shall keep chipping in With " You can do  
this in Flash as well!

Not only could you have a sign video along as the main story , you  
could of course have sound explanations   and then the text of what  
was being said. reminds me of with some dubbed foreign films - "Jour  
de Fetes" comes to mind ( French in the background - English to the  
fore and now sign language in the corner and text at the bottom and  
the smell of the farmyard wafting in the the computer ventilation -  
my it must be 1984 at the feelies) .

And much more the limit is your imagination and the time you want to  
spend.

All this can be done in Flash MX and presumably higher versions.  
Quite amazing stuff ! !  Well perhaps not the smells - version 15  
perhaps?
