Hi David, there's a programme called Handbrake which lets you rip content from DVDs (of course you must only do this with content you know you are allowed to use, such as your own school made films): http://handbrake.m0k.org/?page_id=8 But the best option is to export the iMovie film to Full Quality DV, which then gives you a QuickTime movie that you can easily add to the DVD at the time, but also keep on a specified server or external hard disk as an archive for later use, should it be needed for other purposes. The use of movies is one of the reasons I feel that the general discussion about VLEs/Learning Platforms glosses over the typical needs of pupils with learning difficulties, as many will need very large storage capacity for their individual files, and many LAs such as ours talk about individual users being allocated as little as 25Mb each!
