Article: [senit] Word templates

What an excellent idea and thanks for sharing it Trish. Where would we be without our superb learning support assistants? What a pity that many schools / LEAs do not nurture their talents.

Best Wishes.

Ian

Subject: [senit] Word templates

I was in a mainstream primary school yesterday where we have loaned a pupil
and computer with supportive software. I was very impressed by the learning
support assistant who has set up templates on Word. She has set up the size
of the page, font and spacing to reflect what would be written by a year 5
pupil. This also means that it can be stuck into an exercise book without bits
sticking out or the need to fold over. She uses a font which gives seven
words to a line and so the pupil prints out his work and it appears that he has
done as much work as the other pupils who have hand written their work. She
says that she has several templates available. The key is that she used to
work in publishing!
What a great idea.
