Your best bet here would be to go back to Kudlian, who make | Can  
Animate, and get their excellent Weather & Geography plug-in for iMovie:

It only costs about £30 for a single user licence.

The chromakey tool within I Can Animate relies on the moving footage  
being the background, with the animated work being in the foreground:

I'm pretty sure you need a firewire connection, and then I Can  
Animate should automatically override the iSight, and if it doesn't  
you should be able to select it.
