[senit] Announcements and notices

Hello everyone,

Unusually, no-one has sent me any announcements for you this week but we
have had a couple of direct postings during the week. I hope you won't be
offended, but Richard and I thought we ought to gently remind everyone about
the guidelines for SENIT concerning advertising and notices. i.e. 

'Please do not use the list for direct advertising of courses and products -
notices of this type should be sent to one of the list owners who will then
collate them and send them out as a group.'

Richard is very busy at the moment so it would be helpful if you could send
them to me on ann at mcdevitt.gotadsl.co.uk. Please don't think we are being
pedantic but when the matter was discussed as a group, most people preferred
separating the adverts and courses from the discussions - hence the
guideline. 

I think it is important to send the notices out asap and every Friday
evening seems most practical, as the notices are often sent to me during the
day on Friday!  In addition, I hoped that the weekend would be a time when
people had time to sit down and look at the week's postings, if they have
been too busy in the week.

Would you prefer another day?? Please let me know and I can send them out on
a different day. 

Sorry about the moan - hope you have a good weekend! We didn't get washed
away in East Anglia after all, so it looks like a good time to enjoy the
sunshine while it lasts.
