There is the switch accessible CD player from Liberator, But I think it is only stop/start using a switch, not timed. I don't know if you can use one of the battery switch timers with them. Timed cd playing (switch plays a cd for a certain time and then pauses waiting until the next switch press) I think requires a computer. The CD special which was written by Jim Luther does work ok, however you do have to watch out for the restart time on CDs. On the tests I've done with it it does seem to pause the music ok but the cd seems to take some time to start up again so there is can be a pause in the music after the switch press. Chris Hopkins wrote a switch accessible CD player in Opus which we use generally around school. It allows one switch timed (you can alter the timing), one switch hold or one switch, one switch latched. It has some basic animations that you can add to. So far it has worked well for timed CD playing. We generally use it for pupils to switch their story CDs.
