Article: [senit] Write your own art software in SLD

I have had a very fruitful exchange of emails with Steve.

I would like to clarify a couple of points for the benefit of this forum

It is also of far great value in enabling the student himself to
create material of his/her own which is the point that this community
keep missing - as far as I can tell.

If 5 year olds can benefit so much from DOING Flash then so can so
many of your students.

Things have now got to such the stage that Adobe will find it hard to
Charge for Flash 4 unless they upgrade it and call it an education
version and then it won't be above £300 for 17 licences.

They have admitted that they have in effect abandoned Flash 4 and we
are free to use it unsupported as long as we can get it to work.
(This is because the Mac version will not work with the new iMacs
with intel processor, however there are no problems with Windows XP
( and even on Vista in certain circumstances)

So what's holding you back.

Especially as there are clear well written tutorials (so I'm told)
on simple uses of Flash 4 with more and more coming out every day!

See http://www.tygh.co.uk/chrismas.html for all you need for your
first project with many more projects available. Join the happy band
of teachers that are now creating there own projects and tutorials
at http://flashteachers.blogspot.com

Our numbers are up to 60 (from one in June ) and climbing at the rate
of at least five a week - who can tell how much higher when it's all
out there on line - for free!

Best wishes

Geoff
