I think often the issue is what versions of software you have as much as
which software 

We did a piece of work on various AT's to see what would run under Vista
and often you will need specific version numbers and you will need on
occasion to install patches or fixes from the manufacturers website

My advice really is to draw up a list of the key products you are using
and then email the manufacturers to ask for their Vista compatibility
test   

Equally some of the developers who frequent SENIT could probably tell us
directly 

But make no assumptions - version numbers will be important

There is a lot of software out there that is not compatible - lots of
Adobe
CS2 and earlier versions struggle as do a lot of small utilities.
