There are three announcements for you this week,

Inclusive Technology Training Days 

Inclusive Technology is now running training courses in our brand new,
state-of-the-art IT training suite. Ideal for those using technology to
support learners with special needs, these courses provide lots of practical
activities, hands-on sessions, information and advice and of course,
inspiration!

Our IT training suite is fully equipped with laptops, printing facilities,
internet access, educational software and special needs access devices. The
building is situated in the heart of beautiful Saddleworth, is fully
accessible and has ample parking. Refreshments throughout the day and a
delicious buffet lunch are included.

2. New Communication Handbook 

Inclusive Technology's new Communication Handbook is full of informative
articles and advice as well as the latest in communication devices and
software. There are articles on communication in the inclusive classroom,
using multi-message devices, and visual scene displays; lots of hints and
tips for using various speech output devices; case studies; project ideas
and much more.

3.	From Ian Butterworth ( ianb23 at btinternet.com )  of ACE Centre
Oxford:

 

AAC SIG Meeting at Oxford

The next AAC SIG meeting will be held at the Oxford Centre for Enablement on
the 6th November. The subject for this meeting is ‘Making the Most of
Structured AAC Frameworks’ and includes presentations focusing mainly on
frameworks for young people with severe and profound learning difficulties
by several well known people from the UK AAC and AT field. Full details and
an application form can be found in the news section of the ACE Centre
website http://www.ace-centre.org.uk/ . AAC SIG meetings only cost £5
including lunch for members or £10 for non-members [membership is just
£5/annum].
