I have had a nightmare finding suitable games over the past 6 months 
however it appears my pain may be somewhat over - I can make my own! Yay!
Feel free to add your own sprites, backgrounds, music and game control 
(joystick, mouse, keyboard) .. all fairly straightforward and no 
learning of flash required:
