Recognising Fathers: a chance for fathers to be heard!

The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities is keen to hear
about the experiences of fathers who have a child with a learning
disability.

We are asking fathers to complete a questionnaire so that we can learn
about the impact it has had on their lives, for example, their
involvement in child care, changes they have made to their employment
and the ways in which support services and schools interact with them as
parents.

Are you able to help us to get publicity to fathers about the
questionnaire? We can send you flyers about the survey to distribute or
we can send printed copies of the questionnaire with a pre-paid envelope
that can be given to fathers.

Fathers have the choice to complete the questionnaire on-line or by
hand. Further information and access to the questionnaire is available
at www.learningdisabilities.org.uk

This survey is part of the Recognising Fathers project. This is a
project being run by the Foundation for People with Learning
Disabilities. Information about what we have learnt so far is available
at www.learningdisabilities.org.uk . We are using what we are
learning to think about how fathers and families as a whole could
receive better support through changes in policy and practice.

We are very keen to reach fathers in different parts of the UK and with
a wide variety of experiences- please help us in the area where you work.

If you would like to speak to someone in person about the project
contact Christine Towers on 020 7803 1158 or email ctowers at fpld.org.uk
