Hi Matt, John Galloway and others including SENJIT and Becta have been working on this in the context of developing advice for Building Schools for the Future. Unfortunately I don't have the documents that have come out of our meetings here at home, but perhaps John can post them to the list? Meanwhile, I've attached here a document I wrote looking at the problems (as I saw them) with the solution Oxfordshire went for a few years ago; DigitalBrain. It was too big to post last night and got rejected, so I've had to take all the screen shots out - so hope it makes sense. Since then I've been involved in the County's review of their whole broadband provision as well as the learning platform, and over the next month or so they should be completing the final reflections and feedback with a view to making recommendations as to where we go next. One SEN option that I've been very impressed by has been developed in Swansea, called My People and Places: http://www.mypeopleandplaces.com/ Although you can't tell much from the opening login page, it is a very simple clean interface, uses Widget symbols along with having options for audio and video 'notes' or 'messages', and has been designed initially for adults with learning disabilities. They are actively now developing the product to match schools' needs as a component of an overall learning platform, working to standards so that everything is 'interoperable'.
