I did test my K-1 kaleidoscope software with an autistic lad aged 12 and he 
was glued to it.  (Actually, the only problem was getting him to stop...) 
There's a free demo of a section of it on my website, or you can try a copy 
out for suitability from Inclusive Technology.

You choose the colours and shapes to go into the kaleidoscope and then 
generate animations with it.  If you like what you see on the screen, you 
can print it.  Or you can collect up your favourite animations into a 
screensaver.
