Article: [senit] Accessibility Standards

If looking at the Becta resources from a development perspective you might also be interested in the Industry focused materials at www.Becta.org.uk/Industry/Content/Accessibility
Particularly the detailed technical guidance which point to a number of Standards and guidance for each of a number of accessibility functions.

This is a significant area

Probably the starting point is CAST Universal Design for Learning

http://www.cast.org/publications/UDLguidelines/version1.html

After that I would have a good look at the Becta resources at

http://schools.becta.org.uk/index.php?section=tl&catcode=ss_tl_inc_ac_03
&rid=13343

and finally the TRACE centre guidelines are a good foundation at a technical level

http://trace.wisc.edu/world/computer_access/software/

We run courses on accessible formats and accessible flash design etc if that is of any use - let me know if youw nat any further details

Can anyone tell me where I can find information about standards, guidelines, principals, frameworks for designing and developing software for children with SEN.

I would be very interested in working with the appropriate parties

Hi Ian
I'm sorry but I've had to remove the Meldreth website.
If I can find another home for the interactive switch resources then perhaps I could reinstate parts.
