| Article: [senit] ICT Training | |
|
hi, this year have been training the LSAs in the
following;
Powerpoint, chooseitmaker, switchitmaker,smart
notebook, Clicker.
One of the problems has been lack of generalisation,
in that sometimes people learn how to use the
programs, but then don't use them in the classroom.
Making powerpoints of each classes current literacy
text was the best in that respect. But it was the
slowest to make a product with all the scanning,
inserting symbols etc. In fact it generally took 6
weeks plus, of one hour a week to finish the
powerpoints, by which time some classes had moved on
to to a new text! Basing the training on making
activities for individual student IEPs only
transferred in a couple of cases.
What do people suggest to get training to get ICT
activity-making transfer to daily classroom practice
more (and eventually become self-sustaining)? with the
above , or different programs.
For example I was thinking of running a series of
sessions on using chooseitmaker, smart notebook and
clciker to make quick activities related to the
current literacy texts (but switching programs week to
week may cause some beginner level people problems)
thanks
david
