Article: [senit] ICT Qualifications

May I encourage you all to start thinking 'outside the box'!

Why get sucked into working towards qualifications when if you get
enthused and are good at something all sorts of opportunities for
enjoyment and work follow.

The education system at the moment is leading to so much feeling of
failure that for many it needs to be avoided.

I will gladly teach him Flash using phone and the online tutorials
that I've made - www.tygh.co.uk/menu.html .

Get him to look at :

http://www.myulverston.co.uk/flash/talks.html
where I enthuse on video, with many illustrations, about Flash, the
exciting multimedia software that can be used in so many different
projects with children from 4 to 15

and www.tygh.co.uk/students

I've just started working on a very exciting project with other
teachers to put animations to music.

I'm finding that the curriculum and exam courses are totally missing
the point of education and that it needs to lift and encourage
students to want to achieve something for themselves.

Many teachers and students are getting switched off education in
Britain by unimaginative targets set by people like Dave Hassel at
Becta who just want to manage the system.

If you want to enjoy your education you have to go to Thailand who
have a people-oriented curriculum!
