A VLE is the Learning Environment (so classroom facing) and an MLE is
the system you get when the VLE is integrated with other school IT
systems like MIS or student records systems. It makes great sense to
have it all integrated to avoid duplication and separate logins etc.

Dunno about 'personal learning space'. It sounds like a nice alias for a VLE.
