Hi I keep meaning to chip into this one. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but have you seen the Green Box by Andrew Martin? http://www.greenboxeducation.com/ The Achievement Package is the part of it that acts as an e-portfolio - here's what it says about it on the site: The Green Box Achievement Pack is designed to store evidence of achievement such as digital photographs and video clips. Evidence is stored in a uniquely flexible way, which allows it to be viewed on screen or printed in a variety of formats. Records can be selected by single or combined criteria. For example evidence may be viewed for: a particular student a subject a key stage You can also store electronic documents (e.g. Word, Clicker and WWS docs). It uses the MS Access database. However, there do seem to be some limitations on the number of references you can link to any individual, but it might be worth a look. One more thing, our local Grid for Learning gives us 1Gb (or maybe it's 100mb, I can't remember) of space per pupil, so there is a possibility of using that to store an e-portfolio, although you might want to consider security as it will obviously be stored in cyberspace somewhere...
