Article: [senit] Simon (Listens) & Julius

Not sure if this is any interest to anybody (or even if its old news).
Found this today:
(via Slashdot <http://slashdot.org/firehose.pl?id=474936&op=view>)

"The first version of the open source speech recognition suite simon
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/speech2text/> was released. It uses the
Julius <http://julius.sourceforge.jp/en_index.php> large vocabulary
continuous speech recognition to do the actual recognition and the HTK
toolkit <http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/> to maintain the language model.
These components are united under an easy-to-use graphical user
interface. Simon can import dictionaries directly from wiktionary (a
subproject of wikipedia) or from files formated in the HADIFIX- or HTK
format and grammar structures directly from personal texts. It also
provides means to train the language model with new samples and add new
words./"

/The german project page:/ </http://simon-listens.org/index.php?id=123>
& the sourceforge page: <http://sourceforge.net/projects/speech2text/>
(Warning: Don't expect it to download & work - its an alpha that is
currently only available as source code)
