Hi Claire,
I think that you might find one of our programs to be of interest.
'AirSounds' uses a webcam to put your image onscreen (much better with a 
video projector) along with a bunch of musical instruments - and by 
waving your hands over them ( as you wave your hands around in thin air) 
- they will play notes, sounds etc.

(This program doesn't use Soundbeam, just a cheap webcam)
