Hello everyone, I have just one announcement for you this week, from Sally Paveley about a forthcoming conference about Learning Platforms and SEN. Have a good weekend lets hope that Summer starts soon .. Ann McDevitt, Co-Moderator SENIT Independent IT and SEN Consultant ann at mcdevitt.gotadsl.co.uk ------------------------------------ Sally writes: We have organised this conference because we want those providing learning platforms to be more aware of our issues and we want those working in the SEN sector to find out more about this important technology. The speakers include Sean O'Sullivan from Frank Wise School, practitioners who are using learning platforms, Adrian Higginbotham and Will Ellis from Becta, representatives from organisations responsible for overseeing the implementation of learning platforms within BSF and developers including Widgit, Crick and Inclusive Technology. There will be presentations, a lunchtime exhibition and a question and answer session. There are still a few places available, details below. Sally Paveley, Sally Cooper, John Galloway, Trish Davidson & Imogen Wedgewood 'Learning Platforms and SEN: possibilities and practice' Pupils in mainstream and special schools are being offered exciting opportunities to learn online, whether at school, at home, or in the community. But are these opportunities open to all? This conference will explore entitlement, policy and practice for all those with special needs - including the estimated two percent with severe and complex needs. And ask what we as a community of stakeholders need to do to ensure real access for all?
