Thanks all for your responses so far - it's very helpful indeed and yes, David, this kind of scenario does add complications in terms of compatibility with particular pieces of software or platforms. The learner is using Autodesk AutoCAD 2007, by the way, apparently, if that helps anyone with recommendations.
