It depends entirely on the ability level of the students. Most of the time a piece of plastic or cardboard, held on with blutak or sellotape, seems to serve to keep little fingers off the button. Ths problem is that buttons tend to be located on the front panel and anything mechanical would involve modifying the case in some way. OK, until you want to make a warranty claim!
