As much as I appreciate Paul's description, I must point out that that the true genius is my colleague, Andrew Burt, who supplied me with the answer. It works for the book but doesn't quite do what was asked for in the original question. In Clicker 5, it's not possible to assign a switch to a particular cell. That doesn't mean that you can't get it to do what's needed here. It would depend on what you want to happen after the cell has been activated. Do you want to stay on the same grid or open another one? Kevin I asked Kevin Lynch at Crick this very question last week (i.e. how can you click a switch to turn pages in a Clicker book directly, without scanning) and being a genius, he came up with an answer, which is: Set Clicker 5 user access to none (i.e. not scanning) Open USBKeys and set the switches as follows: Switch 1 Ctrl-Page Down (next page in the Clicker book) Switch 2 Ctrl-Page Up (previous page in the Clicker book) Switch 3 Ctrl-End (reads the text box content) Et voila - direct switch access to the Clicker book! (Both cells play video clips when activated.) It seems as though this should be possible but I'm struggling with it at the moment.
