[senit] Clicker 5 switch access

Thank You Kevin and Paul and also Andrew (the true genius),
Although the page up, page down, suggestion doesn't directly solve the
problem I posed, I can see that I could get the result I wanted by using
this. I want to present a child with a choice of two videos to play. Press
one switch you get one video, press the other switch and you get the other
video. Ideally I wanted this to stay on one page, in order to present the
same choice again. However I can see now that there is no particular need to
have only one page. 

If you could manage to solve the problem of individual switches addressing
individual cells, I would use it to build pages with up to four cells to
choose from, one for each of the switches attached to the Crick switch
box.It just seemed to me that it ought to be possible. For the time being I
will go with your suggestion.

As much as I appreciate Paul's description, I must point out that that the
true genius is my colleague, Andrew Burt, who supplied me with the answer.
It works for the book but doesn't quite do what was asked for in the
original question.

In Clicker 5, it's not possible to assign a switch to a particular cell.
That doesn't mean that you can't get it to do what's needed here. It would
depend on what you want to happen after the cell has been activated. Do you
want to stay on the same grid or open another one?

I asked Kevin Lynch at Crick this very question last week (i.e. how can you
click a switch to turn pages in a Clicker book directly, without scanning)
and being a genius, he came up with an answer, which is:

Set Clicker 5 user access to none (i.e. not scanning)

Open USBKeys and set the switches as follows:

Switch 1 Ctrl-Page Down (next page in the Clicker book)
Switch 2 Ctrl-Page Up (previous page in the Clicker book)
Switch 3 Ctrl-End (reads the text box content)

Et voila - direct switch access to the Clicker book!

Hi All,

Does anyone know how I can set up a (non sending) Clicker 5 grid with only
two cells, to accept direct switch access from two switches
withoutscanning..

i.e. I want the left switch to activate the cell on the left and the right
switch to activate the cell on the right. (Both cells play video clips when
activated.)

It seems as though this should be possible but I'm struggling with it at the
moment.
