Dear All Caught up with some of Pulsedata recently and they mentioned a couple of interesting things. They have a beta version of an MP3 player for the Braillenote family which means that pupils can play these downloaded files in future, through built in speaker or plug in some external ones, the quality is good. Storage is best on a compact flash card, as MP3s can get quite large. They also have a Braillenote club, for younger users, and membership gets you some great freebies, plus the chance to swap ideas and thoughts with other users around the world. It would be a good way to use the email feature of the BN with a purpose, thereby fulfilling NC orders and practising this valuable skill with the notetaker. I'm sure PD don't mind me advertising this for them. If you contact Martin Griffiths at the company, he can let you know how students might join the Braillenote club Yours Will Will Pearson Pre-16 Technology Officer (Midlands/South) ICT Development Officer (Pre-16) RNIB Regional Centre 7 Poplar Street Fishergate Nottingham NG1 1GP T: 0115 958 2322 F: 0115 852 6720 Mob: 07775 951097 E: will.pearson at rnib.org.uk - NOTICE: The information contained in this email and any attachments is confidential and may be legally privileged.
